Jace Smolansky is a multi-hyphenate creative stemming from a diverse background in visual storytelling. He is currently a student at the University of Southern California pursuing a BFA in Lighting Design. Originally from South Florida, with a foundation in film, photography, and cinematography, Jace has always had a passion for creativity and innovation.
With a keen eye and sense for color, composition, and musicality, he has a talent for using light to enhance and support the mood and atmosphere of any story or environment. Regardless of the venue, he is able to put forward his distinct vision and unique lighting design, bringing a production’s story to life, captivating and inspiring audiences.
Overcoming challenges and working collaboratively are of the utmost importance to Jace, deeply valuing input from fellow team members. His passion for his work and dedication to his craft has afforded Jace the opportunity to work in a variety of live event settings.
Jace is a multifaceted lighting designer and programmer having worked with industry professionals within Theatre, Concert, Film, Dance, Opera, and more. He brings a unique and professional approach to each project.
In his free time, Jace enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking new cuisine, discovering and supporting local restaurants, and seeking out the best cup of coffee.
Most recently Jace interned with PRG (Production Resource Group) in Miami, Florida, and looks forward to designing the USC School of Dramatic Arts’ final production for the 2022-23 Season.
